Havarí's Autumn Sweater Fest
Havarí's Autumn Sweater Celebration will be held at Bíó Paradís on November 29th. Benni Hemm Hemm and Kórinn will premiere a song that Benni composed specifically for Havarí's Autumn Sweater project.
Prins Póló's Autumn Sweater has been developed as a knitting pattern in collaboration with Ístex and is now available in a knitting kit that has been a huge success.
The Autumn Sweater was designed in 2021 by Svavar Pétur Eysteinsson, Prins Póló, and Sigrún Halla Unnarsdóttir and has been produced by the knitting factory Glófi in several colors. Two new colors were added to the collection this autumn.
The Autumn Sweater Celebration will run from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Knitting kits will be available for purchase on site, and the machine-knitted sweaters will be 20% off.
We encourage people to come in their favorite autumn sweater and bring their knitting needles.
A portion of the project's profits goes to the Svavar Pétur Eysteinsson Memorial Fund. A fund that annually supports creative people with big ideas.
The Story of the Autumn Sweater
In ancient times, Svavar Pétur Eysteinsson gathered friends and family, who met in their favorite autumn sweaters at Óðinstorg. This was done in honor of the song "Autumn Sweater" by the American band Yo La Tengo. This joke really took off, because shortly after, Svavar Pétur had designed his own autumn sweater, then he designed new versions of it - and so the tradition of releasing an autumn sweater song when a new sweater was ready and launched began.
